During his undergraduate studies, Peter developed a passion for teaching and he has taught numerous students since that time. His Master's degree, from Penn State, was done in conjunction with a position as a teaching assistant to Timothy Deighton. During this time, Peter taught a course in string techniques aimed at the public school music teacher. He also taught private lessons to college-aged students and children in the community. At Boston University, he has continued to develop his interest in teaching as he teaches violinists and violists of all ages from young children to college music majors to retirees. Peter recently completed his Performance Diploma at Boston University. While serving as the String Department Assistant and a viola Teaching Assistant at Boston University, Peter won a 2005 award in recognition of his performing talents and dedicated service to Boston University's String Department. Peter's teaching philosophy involves careful attention to the student's individual needs. He lets a student work at this or her own pace whether the student aspires to be a professional musician or just wants to have fun. Repertoire is chosen from a combination of string methods and exercises are created specifically for the student. Peter also feels it is important for students to learn ensemble music. Music theory, aural skills and music history is woven into each lesson.
