. . . specializing in performing small ensemble
music for all occasions . . .
Are you looking for music to accompany your special event? We specialize
in providing music to accompany all occasions, including weddings,
church services of any kind and parties.
As a duo (Peter and Rachel Cama-Lekx), we can perform a wide variety
of music arranged specifically for your event. We play string instruments
and sing…at the same time! We can perform medieval and Renaissance
music of up to three separate voices. We will help you create the
perfect program for your event, whether it is a specific text that
is meaningful to you or a favorite song.
Having us play as a duo has certain advantages in regards to your
budget and our logistics. However, if you are looking for a larger
ensemble, consider the following options:
Classical String Music
Peter Cama-Lekx and his colleagues will perform at your event in
an ensemble of any size including String Quartets, Trios and Duos,
or combinations with other instruments that you may request. His
groups can also perform modern music including arrangements of jazz,
rock and other popular songs.
The professional musicians performing with The Aurelian Players
have studied at preeminent musical institutions. They possess classical
music backgrounds, but have studied music of all styles and are
devoted to a diverse repertoire to fit your desires.
Early Music for Events
Early music is generally defined as music of the medieval, Renaissance
and Baroque periods. The music is performed on period instruments
and is coordinated by Rachel Cama-Lekx, a historical string specialist.
Rachel and her musician colleagues can perform at your wedding,
banquet or party playing Renaissance dance music, fantasias or sacred
music. Instrumentation is determined by your interests and can include
combinations of violas da gamba, harp, lute, recorder, violin and
voices, all played in a “historically informed” manner.
Early music performers playing with The Aurelian Players are drawn
from the rich community of historical instrument specialists that
is unique to the Greater Boston area. The musicians hold degrees
from early music performance departments at Longy School of Music
and Boston University as well as institutions in Europe.
The traditional gut strings that are used on early string instruments
produce a quieter, mellow sound, so plan accordingly if you desire
music for parties.
At this time, we will not be able to perform in period dress,
sorry!
The musicians of the Aurelian Players are
located in the Greater Boston area and are available to play throughout
New England. To book us for your event, contact Peter and Rachel
